First Day Hike - Newport State Park

Description

If spending more time outdoors is one of your 2027 resolutions, start the year off right by joining Newport Wilderness Society volunteers for a family friendly, easy hike along the 1.2-mi. Fern Trail. Please come prepared for conditions (warm gear, hiking poles, crampons, etc.). All are invited to meet up by the fire at the shelter building afterward for hot cocoa and cookies. Meet at Lot 3.

This event is weather-dependent. Only extreme (cold) temperatures or unsafe trail conditions would cancel the event.
