Governor Thompson Fish Hatchery Open House

Join us for a fun, family-friendly day at the Governor Tommy G. Thompson Fish Hatchery in Spooner!

The Fish Hatchery Open House will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 951 West Maple St., Spooner, WI 54801.

Come behind the scenes and learn more about Wisconsin fish culture and hatchery operations. Visitors can enjoy hatchery tours, games, a hatchery movie, fish displays, a fish pump demonstration, a fish stocking truck display, and learn about the Adopt-a-Muskellunge program, where participants can follow a PIT-tagged musky stocked in the Chippewa Flowage and see how it grows if it is recaptured in the future.

You’ll also be able to see walleyes and muskellunge up close in the tanks.

This is a great opportunity for kids and adults to see how fish are raised and prepared for stocking in Wisconsin waters. Bring the family, ask questions, and enjoy a day at the hatchery!
