Big Sit Birding Event

-

Description

Join the Flock for World Migratory Bird Day! Bring your camp chair, binoculars, field guides and apps and join the Moraine Shores Bird Alliance for a Big Sit event! Whether you're a seasoned birder or just bird-curious, you're invited to help spot and identify the many fascinating species migrating through the park. We'll be based at the Nature Center—inside, outside, or even up on the roof—wherever the birds take us! Come for a few minutes or stay the whole morning; you're welcome to drop in anytime. Throughout the event, we’ll build a list of all the birds we see and hear. It’s a fun, relaxed way to contribute to citizen science and enjoy the beauty of fall migration. Don’t miss this chance to connect with nature and fellow bird lovers! Program happens weather permitting. Meet in the Sanderling Nature Center. Accessible bathrooms and a water bottle filler are available inside the nature center. A Vehicle Admission pass is required and can be purchased online or at the Park Office upon arrival.

This event is weather-dependent.
