Savanna Trail Color Hike: More than leaves

-

Description

Enjoy a color hike along the Savanna Trail, where we will search for amazing colors on more than just the tree leaves! Find fungi, lichens, wildflowers, and more while learning about how colors can be used to communicate. We will start and finish at the parking lot for the Barrens Nature Trail. This hike is 1 mile in length and will last up to 45 minutes. The dirt trail is relatively flat, but there is some uneven terrain. An all-terrain wheelchair is available to reserve in advance by calling the park office at 608-565-2789 or online. There are no restrooms or drinking fountains at the trailhead. The nearest accessible restrooms and drinking fountains can be found at either the park office or at the South Shelter parking lot. Consider bringing insect repellent, sunscreen, hat, and water bottle.

This event is weather-dependent.
