Ships, Shipwrecks and Sanctuary Drop-In

-

Description

Drop by the Sanderling Nature Center for a fun, family-friendly dive into Great Lakes shipping history and the perils of Lake Michigan. This kid-friendly “Great Lakes, Great Read” program will include readings of “Sport: Ship Dog of the Great Lakes,” “The Fisherman, The Horse and The Sea,” which took place just south of the park, and “Death’s Door,” a graphic novel for older elementary readers. Geared for kids of all ages, Master Naturalist Felicia will share readings on the hour and half-hour. You’ll also discover how local shipwrecks are being preserved in the Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary. Meet at the Sanderling Nature Center. Accessible bathrooms and a water fountain with bottle filler are available inside. A Vehicle Admission pass is required and can be purchased online or at the Park Office upon arrival.

This event will be held rain or shine.
