Insect Safari and Monarch Tagging

Description

Along the Lake Michigan shore in late summer, pollinators and other bugs swoop and swarm. Join naturalist Phyllis McKenzie to search for pollinators, Monarchs, and other insects in the park. If we find them, we’ll tag some Monarch butterflies, too. Plan to bring sun block and a bottle of water for this 90-minute safari. We’ll meet at the Closed Gate near the entrance to the campground and chart a course from there. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet Phyllis at the Closed Gate near the entrance to the campground west of parking lot P4 by the Dump Station. A Vehicle Admission pass is required and can be purchased online or at the Park Office upon arrival.
