Stress Less! An Introduction to Forest Therapy
Description
Forest therapy, sometimes called forest bathing, is a modern term for an ancient approach to improving mood and calming inner turmoil. Join a certified forest therapy guide on the Woodland Dunes accessible trail loop to learn about the tools Nature offers us for stress management, and the science behind why they are so effective. This event is recommended for ages 12 and up; no pets, please. The experience includes guided meditation, gentle mindful movement (optional; modifications provided) and a circuit of about a quarter-mile on a mostly flat gravel trail. Meet at the Woodland Dunes trailhead, just south of the playground at parking lot P8. There is a vault toilet adjacent to the parking lot and a water fountain near the playground. A Vehicle Admission pass is required and can be purchased online or at the Park Office upon arrival. This event will be held rain or shine; please dress appropriately for the weather and consider bringing insect repellent.
This event is weather-dependent.
