Hike Central Sands Nature Trail Loop

Description

Join us for a hike on the Central Sands Nature Trail Loop. This is a 1.4-mile looped trail through shaded woods. This unpaved trail is fairly flat, with minor elevation changes and several boardwalks. The trail terrain can be uneven due to sand, exposed roots, and mole tunnels. The hike may take 1 hour. We will meet and finish at the South Shelter, where there are vault toilets (non-flush). Restrooms with running water and showers are also near the South Shelter parking lot. There are no benches or restrooms along the trail loop. An All Terrain Wheelchair is available for use; please call Buckhorn State Park at 608-565-2789 to reserve. 

This event is weather dependent. Consider bringing insect repellent, hat, water bottle, and sunscreen.
