Fern Foray

-

Description

Embark on an exploration of ferns along the Black River Trails to learn the basics and see which ferns we can identify. Join naturalist Phyllis McKenzie and together we’ll learn the language and life cycle of ferns, their identifying features, and their habits as we discover which ones grow here at Kohler-Andrae. We recommend bringing insect repellent, a bottle of water and wearing comfortable shoes for this hike covering 1-2 miles. Meet at the Black River Trails parking lot, P1. Please note that there are no bathrooms or water available at this location. The nearest bathrooms are vault toilets at the North Beach parking lot. A Vehicle Admission pass is required and can be purchased online or at the Park Office upon arrival.

This event is weather-dependent.
