Aztalan Invasive Species Removal & History Hike
Description
Join DNR Parks staff and the Friends of Aztalan State Park to learn more about invasive species like buckthorn, burdock, and honeysuckle. We'll take a short walk and spend about an hour on removal to celebrate "Invasive Species Awareness Weekend." After the work session, an optional history hike will be led by members of the Friends group. Please wear closed-toe shoes or boots and long pants. Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and any other sun protection (hats, long sleeves). We'll have gloves, loppers, and other equipment for removal available for the public. Attendees are welcome to bring their own work gloves, if desired.
This event is weather-dependent.
