Shakespeare in the Park

-

Description

Join us at the amphitheater for a Shakespeare workshop at 5:30 p.m. and a performance of Hamlet at 7 p.m. This show runs 75-80 minutes with no intermission. The rain location is the Twin Valley Beach Shelter. The event is free, but a vehicle admission pass is required. With his father's recent death still looming in his mind, Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark grapples with the truth of his father's death, his mother's betrayal and his uncle's role in all of it. Relationships are torn apart. Deceit will be revealed. At the heart of it all, Hamlet must decide between his duty and his doubt and learn what it means to be alive amidst power and privilege. The only company in the country focused on touring a production through state parks, Summit Players Theatre builds connections between Shakespeare, the outdoors and fun! The Players use theatre as a learning medium and introduce children to a passion for language, communicating and constructive play, while providing adults with an enjoyable theatrical experience!

This event will be held rain or shine.
