Ink Fish Printing
Description
In the mid-1800s in Japan, fishermen created "Gyotaku" prints to record their prized catches by pressing rice paper onto a fish covered with ink or paint. “Gyotaku” (guy-yo-tah-koo) or ink fish printing was originally a method of counting how many fish a fisherperson caught. Try your hand at this ancient artform with help from our wonderful volunteers. Paper, bandanas, and all supplies will be available; bring a T-shirt if you would like to print one.
