Out with Invasives!
Description
Invasives Species abound, and the park needs your help! Grab your work gloves and help Phyllis, the Park Naturalist, remove invasive shrubs like Buckthorn, Honeysuckle, Japanese Barberry, and Multi-flora rose. We recommend leather work gloves as some of these plants have sharp spines. We’ll have loppers, clippers, bow saws and some work gloves available. This work and learn opportunity is geared for folks age 16 and up.
Please call the Park Office at 920-451-4080 to register, so we know how many tools to bring. We suggest bringing water, sunscreen, and bug spray and wearing long pants, long sleeves and closed-toe shoes or hiking boots. Meet at the Black River Trails parking lot, P1. Please note that there are no bathrooms at this location. Vehicle admission is free for volunteers. Check in with a staff member when you arrive to get an admission pass if you don’t already have one.
This event is weather-dependent.
