It’s a Bird! Basics for Beginners

-

Description

Do you enjoy watching birds but don’t know which one is which? Join Phyllis, the park naturalist, for an introduction to identifying birds. We’ll learn some of the visual features, behaviors, and likely locations of resident and migratory birds, giving you the skills to be able to identify or get help identifying birds in the park. This program is meant for anyone age 6 and older. If time and weather allow, we’ll take a short walk in search of birds.

Afterwards, join the Moraine Shores Audubon for a World Migratory Bird Day Big Sit event at the nature center. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No pets allowed. Program will take place no matter the weather. Meet at the Sanderling Nature Center which will open early for this event. Accessible bathrooms and a water fountain with bottle filler are available inside. A Vehicle Admission pass is required and can be purchased online or at the Park Office upon arrival.

This event will be held rain or shine.
