Deer Processing Clinic (Oneida County)

-

Description

This hands-on 4-hour workshop is designed to teach participants the essential skills needed to properly process a deer from field to table. Whether you're a new hunter or looking to become more self-sufficient, this class provides step-by-step instruction in a supportive, practical environment.
Participants will learn how to safely skin, quarter and break down a deer using proper techniques that maximize meat yield and quality. The class will also cover deboning, trimming and identifying different cuts of venison, along with best practices for packaging and freezing.

In addition to the hands-on component, instructors will discuss meat care in the field, food safety, tool selection and tips for turning venison into high-quality table fare.

Anyone can sign up, families encouraged.
