Big Sit Birding Event

Description

Anyone who likes birds is welcome to help identify the many bird species migrating through the park. Bring your camp chair, binoculars, field guides and apps and join the Moraine Shores Audubon for a World Migratory Bird Day Big Sit event. Birders will be based at the nature center and may be on the roof, inside, or outside, depending on weather conditions and bird activity. 

A list of birds seen and heard will be created during this Big Sit event. Come and go as you wish. Some binoculars are available for use. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No pets allowed. Vehicle admission required. 

This event is weather-dependent. Call the Park Office to confirm that program has not been cancelled, 920-451-4080. Meet at the Sanderling Nature Center which will open early for this event. Accessible bathrooms and a water fountain with bottle filler are available inside. A Vehicle Admission pass is required and can be purchased online or at the Park Office upon arrival.
