June 2 Invasive Workday
Description
Please join us to help pull invasives in the Family Campground and Pollinator Garden. We'll be meeting at the Maintenance Shop at 9:30 a.m., getting instructions, gathering tools and then moving to the designated areas by 10. Light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Hartman Creek State Park. Please bring work gloves and a lopper. Larger tools will be provided, if necessary, as well as garbage bags to collect the invasives. Bug spray and sunscreen will also be available. Please bring a raincoat, if needed. No experience necessary. In the Pollinator Garden, we'll be targeting any resprouting from earlier treatments in the area. In the Family Campground, we'll be targeting Garlic Mustard, Celandine, Ditch Lilies and Crown Vetch. In the Family Campground, we will be targeting buckthorn and using the Critical Period Cutting Method.
This event will be held rain or shine.
