Learn to Hunt Turkey with Glacier Valley Gobblers (Sauk County)
Description
Cost: Free
Interested in turkey hunting but not sure where to begin? This hands-on course is designed for adults with little to no hunting experience who want a supportive introduction to turkey hunting in Wisconsin.
Participants will learn hunting laws and regulations, firearm safety, turkey biology, scouting strategies and shot placement. You’ll gain experience on the firing line, practice turkey calling and take part in turkey processing to build confidence from field to table. An early morning scouting session at the UW–Madison Arboretum will help you identify habitat, turkey sign and calling techniques in real time.
The course wraps up with a mentored weekend hunt, pairing you with an experienced hunter to put your new skills into action.
