Learn to Hunt Turkey at Sandhill Wildlife Area (Central Wisconsin)

Cost: $50 (cash or check made payable to "Pheasants Forever Wisconsin")

Class Requirements: You must be at least 18 years old or older and have earned your hunter safety certificate. Please reach out to John Motoviloff if you have questions about completing the hunter safety requirements. 

This class is for novice adults with little or no experience turkey hunting. 

The National Wild Turkey Federation and Pheasants Forever will be teaming up to provide this unique opportunity to learn about wild turkeys, hunting techniques and finally participate in a hunt the with an experienced mentor. 

The class will consist of three parts:

• Virtual session - Tuesday, March 31, 6 - 8:30 p.m.
• Shooting practice - Friday, April 3, 3 - 8 p.m.
• Mentored hunt - Saturday, April 4, 4:30 a.m. to noon. 

Basic meals, licenses, stamps, blinds, decoys, firearms, ammunition, camo, outer layers and game cleaning supplies will be provided. This will be an overnight hunt at Sandhill. You can stay overnight at Sandhill for no additional charge. For those who prefer to camp you may do so at a local campground or those wanting to stay in a motel can find them in Wisconsin Rapids, Warrens and other local communities. As part of the program, you will participate in a mentored hunt Saturday morning. The group will reconvene around noon on Saturday with a chance to clean a wild turkey. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about wild turkey hunting with other like-minded adults! 

To register, go to Go Wild and log in or create an account if you don't already have one. Click on the Manage Safety Education tab, click "Search for Class, and select "Learn to Hunt" as Course Type and "Wood" as County in the drop-down tabs. Register with your Customer ID number.
