First Day Hike at Straight Lake State Park
Description
Join Park Manager Hannah Cross on a mile-long hike on the Rainbow Lake Trail loop at Straight Lake State Park. As a group, traverse the glacial terrain surrounding Rainbow Lake. This trail offers beautiful views of the lake and forest with some steep inclines. A warming fire will be at the parking lot, as well as snacks and refreshments provided by the Friends of Interstate and Straight Lake State Parks. Be sure to dress for cold weather, including hats, gloves, and warm jackets. There are no heated buildings at Straight Lake. Visitors are welcome to bring snowshoes if there is enough snow. Pets are welcome on the hike, but must be under control and on a physical leash no longer than 8ft at all times. Valid vehicle admission is required for this event. Vehicle admission passes can be purchased at the event or in advance online at YourPassNow.com.
The event may be canceled due to inclement weather.
