Adams County Antlerless Field To Fork

The National Deer Association is proud to offer an amazing opportunity for new and prospective hunters to get afield for the first time with skilled and experienced deer hunters in a one-on-one hunting scenario.

After completing the required range day and other prerequisites, hunters will be paired with a skilled deer hunting mentor and/or landowner. The mentor and mentee pair will be responsible for hunting date coordination with the landowner (hunters will not all be hunting the same weekend). All mentees/hunters will be allowed a minimum of two sits with their mentor. Each mentee/hunter is allowed to harvest one antlerless deer during this course.

The range days and virtual sessions for this course will run in conjunction with a sister course that will have the same curriculum and outcome. The hunt portion for that course will be held on Saturday December 13, with a full-day hunt. Prerequisites To Be Completed Prior To Hunting

• Hunter’s Education – Free code provided for those who have not taken the course.
• Deer Hunting 101 Online Course – Free code will be provided to all students.

Note: Completion of the prerequisites and attendance at range day and virtual course are required to hunt.

Materials Provided 

• Rifle (Savage 110 6.5 Creedmoor/Vortex 3-9x40 scope)
• Ammo
• Legal orange requirements (vest and hat)
• Two meals at camp weekend
• Camping site
• A one-month OnX membership
• Licenses and tags (covers only this hunt, no other hunting activities)

Suggested donation of $100.

• 8:30 a.m. - noon, Bill Cook Chapter of the Izaak Walton League Shooting Range (5297 State Hwy 66, Stevens Point)

Sept. 21 – Make-up Range Day

• Columbia County Shooting Range (W6273 King Road, Poynette)

Sept. 23 – Virtual Session

Oct. 1 - Dec. 11 – Mentored Hunts In Adams County (exact time and location TBD)
