Fun With Fungi: Mushroom Day

Join us for a fungi-filled adventure as we learn about the fascinating world of mushrooms. Many activities will be included during this fantastic, fungi event! We’ll explore the forest in search of fabulous fungi and uncover the hidden wonders of the forest floor. A speaker will provide a short lesson on fungi in Wisconsin. Mushroom crafts and temporary tattoos for all ages will be available. Join in the fun and maybe even win the Mushroom Costume Contest!

• 10 a.m. – noon: Children’s storytime and mushroom craft
• 10:30 a.m. –11 a.m.: Short films screening
• 11:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.: Mushroom cap (hat) craft and mushroom costume contest. Small prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place
• 12:15 – 2 p.m.: Educational presentation on fungi in Wisconsin, followed by a hike where attendees are encouraged to photograph any mushrooms found and work together to find different types throughout the forest.
