Dodge County Pheasant Hunt

-

Description

This will be a released pheasant hunt with a dog.

Meet at Cackle Creek at 8 a.m. There will be a brief safety talk discussing the proper hunting techniques, methods and club rules. Youth will then be split into small groups in each field (parents are welcome to walk with). Then we go hunting!

Be sure to listen to the mentor's guidance and techniques, as they are in charge. Wear walking boots and appropriate hunting attire.

Youth should expect to walk in all weather conditions and be prepared to get muddy. We will walk along the field until the dog flushes birds and look for opportunities to take safe and effective shots. After the hunt, the mentor may show you how to clean one bird; the rest of your harvest is yours to take home.

Youth must have completed Hunter Education, be at least 11 years of age and have a parent/guardian present at the hunt.
