Bees Build Homes
-
Description
Have you ever wondered where solitary bees make their homes? Most bees do not live together in hives! Come celebrate Pollinator Week with us by learning about solitary nesting bees.
Meet at the Badger Den parking lot, where a naturalist will lead you indoors to explore the fascinating lives of solitary bees. We will use crafting materials to make our very own bee homes. All materials provided. After crafting, we will walk to the prairies to observe solitary bees and other pollinators at work.
The hike will be about 1 mile, unshaded, with some inclines. Please come prepared for walking in summer weather; this may include bringing sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a water bottle or a raincoat.
