Voyageur Reenactment

-

Description

Join Isaac Walters and Gene Tesdahl to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Interstate Park with a historical reenactment! They will sing French paddling songs and display artifacts in their hands-on 1790s canoe camp. Walters and Tesdahl met as National Park Service rangers on the Grand Portage Ojibwe Reservation and have been providing historical reenactments across the country for 30 years.

This program will begin at the Lake O' the Dalles Beach Area at noon. Following a birchbark canoe demonstration, Walters and Tesdahl will have their artifacts on display until 3:30 p.m.

In the case of heavy rain, the presentation will be moved to the Ice Age Interpretive Center Auditorium. Program hosted by the Friends of Interstate Park and funded by donations from the Royal Credit Union.
