Into The Night With Rib Mountain’s Bats

-

Description

The Friends of Rib Mountain State Park invite you to a program on the wonders of bats, followed by a short "Bat Walk" to observe them in action.

Plan on a 30-40 minute presentation at 7:30 p.m. by Jennifer Summers of the UWSP Center for Wildlife with visual aids (bat study skins and some other small items). Then, join a Bat Walk led by Jennifer at dusk (sunset is 8:46 p.m.), who will have her bat detector along.

Bring a headlamp. The walk will be about 25 minutes long, and it will be dark by the time we're done. The program and walk will begin and end at the Park's Northern Vista Shelter in the day-use area (former campground).

Hikers should be prepared for some uneven trails.

Note: If the weather is questionable that day, check the Friends Facebook page or call 715-680-9480 for updates.
