Jefferson County Kiwanis Take a Kid Fishing Day

-

Description

Kids ages 3 to 18 years old can register at the fairgrounds between 8 and 9 a.m., and they will be given a bucket with fishing lures, jigs, bait and a numbered button for a drawing for prizes after lunch.

Kids can fish anywhere they would like with their parents or guardians, returning to the fairgrounds at 1 p.m. to weigh in their catches with conservation wardens and local law enforcement officers and enjoy a free hot dog and hamburger lunch with all the fixings.

About 70% of kids go home with a prize. This will be a great time for families and friends to get together and spend a day in the great outdoors.

Kiwanis provides all bait and tackle. Those without fishing poles can contact Mike Bolger at 920-723-6628 in advance.

Since it’s Free Fishing Weekend, adults don’t need a license and can play an active role while helping.

Spanish speakers will be in attendance, and the site is wheelchair accessible.
