How To Clean And Cook Wild Turkey

-

Description

This class will provide participants with skills and resources to clean and cook wild turkeys.

It will begin with a demonstration of skinning and cutting a wild turkey into usable parts and explaining how to pluck a wild turkey (though this will not be demonstrated). Following the demonstration, we will cook both the breast and legs of a wild turkey and use the heart, liver, gizzard and carcass.

The class will conclude with participants getting hands-on experience cooking slices of wild turkey breast. We will enjoy these as a group as we reflect on our experience.

Recipes and all cooking materials will be provided, and there is no cost for this class.

Instructor John Motoviloff is Pheasants Forever's R3 and outreach coordinator for Wisconsin, and a cookbook author.
