Woodcock Walk
-
Description
Woodcocks are among the first birds to help us welcome the spring season.
These well-camouflaged, rotund shorebirds are known for their dramatic dance across the sky at sunrise and sunset. We hope to observe the male’s elaborate sky dance courtship display, and you’ll learn about how woodcocks catch their prey and hide from predators.
Please dress for the weather, as it can be cold out in the open areas where these birds are found. This program is best for kids 10 years old and up and adults.
Meet at the Steinke Basin Parking Lot.
