Ice Age Legacy
Description
Join us on the second Saturday of the month from April to November to discover the Ice Age Legacy and the history of the landscapes of the Kettle Moraine.
Meet at the Long Lake picnic shelter (N3450 Division Rd, Cascade, WI 53011) located near the boat launch for an introduction before hiking the 1-mile Summit Trail to experience kames, drumlins, eskers, kettles and other landforms created by the glaciers. Following the hike, caravan to a nearby landform for a close-up view.
This hike is moderately challenging with trail steps up and down. We recommend bringing water, insect repellent, sturdy hiking shoes and a hiking pole.
The program will be canceled if extreme weather or unsafe trail conditions arise. A valid annual vehicle admission pass or a daily pass is required for parking.
