Angler Education Instructor Training And Certification Workshop

-

Description

Join Inner City Sportsmen Club members at this workshop to get certified as a DNR Angler Education Instructor. Recreation program leaders, fishing club members, classroom teachers, community center staff and civic leaders are all invited.

Participants who successfully complete a background check will receive a raft of support materials. The training workshop includes dryland fishing skills practice and tips for leading fishing programs for people with all abilities. You can bring this program home to help scouts earn merit badges or to provide fishing outings, meet-ups for young adults, after-school fishing clubs, summer enrichment classes, day camps and school-family events for your community.

How to Register: Go to Go Wild and log in or create an account if you don't already have one. Click on the "Manage Safety Education" tab, click "Search for Class" and select "Adult Angler Education/R3 Instructor Certification" as Course Type and "Milwaukee" as County in the drop-down tabs. Register with your 9-digit Customer ID number.

Registration Deadline: Monday, March 3.

Cost: Free. A light dinner is included, and you will leave the workshop with a boatload of materials.

Note: If you sign up and later decide not to attend, please let us know by noon on Wednesday, March 5, to help us contain our costs or offer your spot to someone on the waiting list.

Participants will be expected to pass a background check. It is best to fill out the background check form in advance to help reduce the time it takes to become a certified angler instructor. Participants will also have to sign a participation agreement upon arrival.

Once you register, we will send you a brief form to learn more about you so we can tailor this workshop to your needs.
