Campground and Barrens Trail Hike

Join us on an evening hike from the campground and around the Barrens Trail. The trail has a fairly flat and level surface, part paved in the campground and crushed rock on the first 0.5 mile of the hike. This 2.5-mile trail goes through woods and barrens area and around the pond. This hike may take about 1.5 hours on average. There is an option to hike to the pond and back to the campground (1.2 miles). A flush toilet, pit toilet (non-flush) and drinking fountains are available in the campground.

Meet in the campground by site #46. There is extra parking by #46 and by #75, across from the start of the trail. A vehicle admission pass is required for entry and can be purchased online or at the Park Office upon arrival. One all terrain wheelchair is available for use at this event and can be reserved online.

This event is recommended for all abilities and ages; please leave pets at home. This event will happen in any weather, rain or shine. Dress according to the weather.

Consider bringing a water bottle, snacks, insect repellent, a flashlight, boots and rain gear.
