Angler Education Instructor Training And Certification

-

Description

Your participation in this training and successful completion of a background check will certify you as an Angler Education Instructor. We'll provide you with tips and materials to lead fishing clinics. You'll have opportunities to practice teaching, too.

Successful program models include community fishing outings, camps, school-family events, helping scouts earn merit badges, after-school fishing clubs, meet-ups for young adults and adult education.

The registration deadline is March 3.

To register, contact workshop host, Kenneth Costa at Kenneth.Costa@wisconsin.gov or 262-339-6514.

This event costs $5 to attend and lunch is included. When you're done, you will leave with a boatload of materials. Note: A Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission pass is required to attend.

If you sign up and later decide not to attend, please cancel by noon on Monday, March 22, to help us contain our costs or offer your spot to someone on the waiting list.

Participants will be expected to pass a background check; form 4100-217 can be found on our website. It is best to begin that process in advance. The form can be found on our website. You will also be expected to sign a participation agreement upon arrival.

We will also send you a brief form to learn more about you so that we can tailor this workshop to your needs. You can let us know if you'd like to help at a "Learn to Fish" clinic on Sunday, March 16, to practice your teaching skills.
