First Day Hike

Description

Kick off the new year with a guided hike at 1:15 p.m. with Naturalist Maia Lieske. The hike will be approximately 1 mile on the Ojibwa winter use trail (a natural surface trail with some terrain). 

For those looking to take a self-guided hike, park maps and suggestions will be available from staff and volunteers. The Friends of Interstate Park will be providing refreshments in the Ice Age Interpretive Center classroom. A warming fire will also be located behind the Ice Age Interpretive Center. 

Dress appropriately for the weather (boots, hat, gloves, warm socks, jacket, etc.). If there is enough snow, snowshoes will be available to try. Pets are welcome as long as they are leashed and under the owner's control. Pets are not allowed in the Ice Age Interpretive Center.

This event is free, but vehicle admission is required to enter the park. Admission stickers will be available for purchase at the parking lot.
