Venison Canning Workshop
Description
The National Deer Association is excited to offer a hands-on Venison Canning Workshop at the Sandhill Wildlife Area (1715 Cty Hwy X, Babcock, WI 54413) on Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. Whether you're an experienced hunter or new to processing your own game, this 3-hour course is designed to teach you everything you need to know about safe canning and preserving your own venison for long-term storage.
During the workshop, you'll learn essential techniques for preparing venison, followed by a step-by-step guide to canning meat. Our expert instructors will walk you through the entire process, including tips on safely handling wild game, the necessary equipment and best practices for preserving the flavor and nutrition of your venison. You'll also get hands-on experience, helping you gain confidence in this valuable skill. All the necessary materials and equipment will be provided, with the $10 fee covering the cost of supplies, including your own canning jar, lids and venison.
This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to learn how to preserve the meat you've harvested, ensuring it lasts through the winter months while retaining its taste and nutritional value. The National Deer Association encourages hunters, food enthusiasts and anyone interested in learning more about sustainable food preservation to join us.
