Have you heard of the Greater prairie chicken? They’re an extremely charismatic wildlife species in Wisconsin, attracting people from miles around to watch their intriguing mating display each spring. The DNR is drafting a new management plan for this species to outline four possible paths forward through 2032. The plan will be presented at a public virtual open house session held on Monday, Jan. 18, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. and your input is needed.

The comment period for public input on the new greater prairie-chicken management plan will run Jan. 18 to Feb. 18, 2022. Information on how to provide your input will be shared at the virtual open house as well as on the DNR website beginning Jan. 18.
