Details 

We Energies, c/o Patrick Kenny, 333 West Everett Street, A231, Milwaukee, WI 53203, has applied to the Department of Natural Resources for a permit to hydraulically dredge and place miscellaneous structures below the Ordinary High Water Mark of the Milwaukee Estuary. More specially We Energies plans to remediate targeted contaminated sediments in Operable Unit 2 of the Milwaukee River primarily by sediment removal utilizing hydraulic dredging, with environmental capping over limited areas where dredging cannot be safely performed. The project is located in SE 1/4, NW 1/4, Section 33, Township 07N, Range 22E, in the City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County.

The department will review the proposal provided by the applicant and any information from public comments and the public informational hearing. The department will determine whether the proposal complies with ss. 1.11, 30.12, 30.20 and 30.208, Wis. Stats., and ch. NR 150, Wis. Adm. Code.

The department has made a tentative determination that it will issue a permit with conditions for the proposed activity.
