Loon Creek Bank Stabilization Informational Hearing, Burnett County
Date: 12/02/2025
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Location: Virtual
Dan Harrington, Dan.Harrington@wisconsin.gov or 715-733-0019
The proposal is to secure the eroding sandy soil banks by using 8-20 inch rock rip rap, utilizing an excavator to shape the existing banks, cover them with filter cloth and haul in clean breaker rock to complete this project. Any exposed soils will be seeded and mulched once the project is completed. It is anticipated that 35 linear feet of rock will be needed on both sides of the bank.
The sole intent of the placement of the rock riprap is to prevent ongoing bank erosion and is not to impound water by any means. The County and the Lake District have been provided with information in previous meetings on how to pursue approvals to install a water control structure at this location. This hearing is solely to address the ongoing bank erosion and not water levels.
