Water Resource Crossing Inventory (WRCI)

The Water Resource Crossing Inventory (WRCI) was created to evaluate the maintenance needs of forest road crossings on all public properties in Wisconsin. With a complete crossing inventory, each property can better prioritize structure replacement and road closure, secure funding for stream and wetland crossings and better protect Wisconsin’s forested watersheds.

The intended user group includes foresters, biologists and property managers for the Wisconsin DNR, County Forest staff and other external partners, such as USFS staff or non-government organizations.

The Water Resource Crossing Inventory (WRCI) is a DNR data delivery system that provides interactive web mapping tools for the WRCS data. Data incorporated into the inventory will be downloadable as CSV or Excel files. This data visualization tool is in development and will be added to the site once completed.
