Environmental Impact Analysis

Under the Wisconsin Environmental Policy Act, the DNR is required to analyze and publicly-disclose the environmental impacts of department actions and projects, along with reasonable alternatives. In most cases, environmental impact analysis is conducted as part of regular department procedures. In some cases, a separate environmental impact statement (EIS) will be prepared. The DNR also conducts strategic analyses of broader natural resource issues. Below you can learn about – and participate in – DNR environmental impact analyses.
