Jordan and Skinner creeks (SP02)

The Jordan and Skinner creeks watershed is located in southwest Green County. Agriculture is the dominant land use in the Jordan and Skinner creeks watershed. The only surface water permitted point source discharger is the community of Browntown. We know little about water quality or in-stream habitat in the watershed, though we assume polluted runoff affects water quality and in-stream habitat.

The major site of publicly owned land in the watershed is the Browntown-Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area. We did not recommend monitoring in the last Sugar-Pecatonica River basin plan because the potential use of the streams was thought to be less than other watersheds in the basin (Eagan, 1988).
