DNR Celebrates Successful 2022 Elk Hunting Season
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is celebrating a successful elk hunting season. The state’s fifth elk hunting season opened Saturday, Oct. 15 and closed Wednesday, Oct. 19 as a result of all four state licensed hunters filling their harvest authorizations.

Reminder: Get Your Sturgeon License By Oct. 31
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminds those interested in sturgeon spearing that they have until Oct. 31, 2022, to purchase a license for the 2023 Lake Winnebago sturgeon spearing season. The season opens Feb. 11, 2023, for Lake Winnebago and the Upriver Lakes of Butte des Morts, Winneconne and Poygan.

The public may submit comments through a variety of opportunities, including a public open house meeting from 4-7 p.m. on Nov. 3, 2022, at the Northcentral Technical College, Center for Health Sciences Building (Room 1004A/B), 1000 W. Campus Drive in Wausau.
