    DNR To Lift Special Order Requiring Burn Permits In 13 Counties Starting Nov. 9

    The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced that the special burning permit requirement for 13 Wisconsin counties will be lifted at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024. The rescinding of this Special Fire Order applies to the following 13 extensive DNR protection area counties outside incorporated cities and villages: All of Columbia, Crawford, Green Lake, Marquette, Portage, Richland, Sauk, Waupaca, Waushara counties and portions of Oconto, Dane, Grant and Iowa counties, respectively.
