Registration fees
Registration fees are based upon the length of the boat. Current fees:

| Replacement registration expiration decals | $2.50 |

Sales Taxes
- State Sales Tax: a 5% sales tax must be collected for all nonexempt private party or dealer sales. County and city use taxes may also apply and are based on where the boat is customarily kept while in Wisconsin.
- County Sales Tax: most Wisconsin counties impose a county sales tax. If the boat is customarily kept in a county that has adopted a county tax, a county tax must be paid.
- City Sales Tax: effective January 1, 2024, city of Milwaukee imposes a new 2% sales and use tax. If the boat is customarily kept in the city of Milwaukee, the city tax must be paid.
