Northern Highland

The department will be initiating a regional master planning process for properties it manages in the Northern Highland Ecological Landscape. The region includes large portions of Vilas and Oneida counties and small portions of Iron, Lincoln and Price counties.

Some of the more popular or well-known properties that will be part of the planning process include Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest, Willow Flowage Scenic Waters Area, Thunder Lake Wildlife Area, Menard Island Resource Area and Bearskin State Trail.
