Master Plan Variance

The Willow Flowage Scenic Waters Area is located in west central Oneida County and includes 73 miles of shoreline (95% of which is undeveloped), 106 islands and seven boat landings. The Willow Flowage Scenic Waters Area Master Plan [PDF] was approved by the Natural Resources Board in 2016.

Planning Update

The Wisconsin DNR has initiated a variance process for the Willow Flowage Scenic Waters Area Master Plan.

The Willow Flowage Scenic Waters Area Parking and Host Campsite Variance proposes expanded parking at the Sandy Landing Lot on Willow Dam Road as well as development of a new parking area for carry-in/carry-out access to the Upper Tomahawk River on Cedar Falls Road. Expanded and new parking would increase capacity and improve public safety and recreational access to the flowage. The variance also proposes to authorize the establishment of a campground host site near Willow Dam Landing, Sandy Landing, Nature Trail, Campsite #1, or other locations in nearby proximity to support a volunteer campground host at the property.
