Southern Region Planning Group

Master Plan Variance

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has initiated a master plan variance process for Bloomfield State Habitat Area and Vernon Wildlife Area, both in the Southern Region Planning Group Master Plan.

This variance proposes designating a pedestrian trail loop on each property. These facilities already exist on the properties, made up of sections of closed roads and undesignated trails. Designating the facilities as trails requires assigning NR 44 development levels and conducting regular maintenance and associated inspections, ensuring improved access and providing a consistent recreational experience.
