Liberty Creek Wildlife Area
Liberty Creek Wildlife Area is in Albany and Brooklyn townships in east central Green County. The property consists of 565 acres of state-owned land comprised mainly of wetland. Small blocks of oak and scattered bottomland hardwood islands are also found on this property. Liberty Creek, a class 3 trout stream, flows north-south for a mile through the wildlife area. Access points are limited to a parking area and lane off English Settlement Road or along Brooklyn-Albany Road to the north.
Common game species include turkey, waterfowl, deer and other small game.
Management Objectives
The Liberty Creek Wildlife Area was established in 1959 to provide public hunting opportunities. Management is primarily passive due to the substantial amount of wetland and limited access.
