The East (Lotus) Lake Fishery Area is a 30.5 acre property located in Polk County. It consists of marshy lake shore, lotus beds, wooded uplands, and open field areas.

Location/Directions

The East (Lotus) Lake Fishery Area is 2 miles southeast of Dresser. From County Hwy MM turn east on 90th Avenue. There is a parking lot off 90th Avenue on the north end of the property.

Adjacent to the Fishery Area is the 18 acre Polk County Lotus Park [exit DNR] which includes fishing boat access, hiking trails, picnic area, playground, shelter, and restrooms.

Objective

The East (Lotus) Lake Fishery Area is managed to protect the lotus beds as they are the only ones in the area, and the primary spawning area on the lake.
