White River Lock and Dam

DNR Fisheries AreasUpper Fox River Public Access

White River Lock and Dam is one of several DNR properties included in the Upper Fox River Public Access group of properties along the Upper Fox River.

The White River site is one of the most recently refurbished properties along the Upper Fox River. The department installed two new parking areas, a new boat launch (no launch fee), an ADA-compliant pathway from the parking area to the fishing pier) and installed a new fishing pier on the Upper Fox River, where the former low-head dam used to be. We also installed rock along the shoreline for sturgeon spawning habitat. Since the overhaul, the site has seen much more use, and we expect to start getting reports of sturgeon spawning on the rocky shoreline in the near future.

Location/Directions

White River Lock and Dam are located 5 miles north of Princeton, Wisconsin, on the southern side of While River Marsh Wildlife Area off Lock Road.
